1st – 30th April – Bowel Cancer Awareness Month
This year Beating Bowel Cancer and Bowel Cancer UK have merged to form the UK’s leading bowel cancer charity, with a mission to ensure that by 2050, no-one will die of bowel cancer.
Bowel cancer is the UK’s second biggest cancer killer however it shouldn’t be because it is treatable and curable especially if diagnosed early. Nearly everyone diagnosed at the earliest stage will survive bowel cancer but this drops significantly as the disease develops.

23rd – 29th April – Allergy Awareness Week
Running from Monday 23rd April to Sunday 29th April, the week is designed to raise awareness of people living with allergies.
This year, we will be focussing on travelling with an allergy and raising awareness of the issues faced by people with allergy when travelling.
During the week, we will also be highlighting advice on how to prepare for holidays, both abroad and in the UK if you have an allergy.

To celebrate World Immunology Day 2018, on Friday 27 April the British Society for Immunology is delighted to collaborate with the Francis Crick Institute and Nature Research to present ‘How your gut reacts to microbes in health and disease‘.
28th April – ILO World Day for Safety & Health at Work
The International Labour Organisation (ILO) marks its World Day for Safety and Health at Work on or around 28th April each year. World Day is an international campaign to promote safe, healthy and decent work around the globe.
