Functional Skills English Entry 3

To achieve the above learners must achieve the following components:

Competence:  E3 Functional Skills Certificate

Knowledge:  Knowledge On Reading, Writing & Speaking & Listening (Formal/Informal)

GLH: 45+ required for this qualification – workshop sessions and e-learning.

The blended structure of the programme will ensure that the full criteria are tackled from the start and throughout the programme. It should take the learner three months in total to achieve the qualification however you may feel that a learner may need less or more time depending on their skills, experience and education to date.

An individualised programme can also be devised in respect of the qualification; learners can attend additional workshops and receive additional one to one support if required.

The aims of the Entry 3 English qualification –

  • To develop the essential skills and knowledge required to meet the criteria for English Functional Skills Entry 3.
  • To develop personal skills and to build confidence in applying acquired knowledge in a Functional Skills setting.
  • To support the learner in acquiring the knowledge, understanding and performance in English Functional Skills.
  • To develop soft skills (application of knowledge, confidence, self esteem) and knowledge of Health & Safety, E-Safety, Safeguarding & Equality & Diversity.
